Well I finally did it! I went out on the delaware river just north of the Commodore Barry Bridge on monday after work. Took my 30 topless traps and a mess of bunker for bait. We crabbed in 6' of water at the end of the out going tide, over on the NJ side. I'm am so serious about this, we caught 34crabs from 6" to 7 3/4" in less than 2 hours. We also caught about 40 crabs or better that were between 5" and 6" inches. PA crabbing is the best.

Not even kidding, there are tons of crabs out there. i was out there today and got about 12 catfish, really nice ones. Didn't do any crabbing today b/c i still have a bunch in the fridge. But I did notice about 100 commercial pots out there on the Jersey side. Pretty much @ the same depth that I was crabbing the other day.

Yeah.....really nice down there these days. Nobody messes with you or our truck. Most of the time there's a cop in the parking lot too. I've seen the PAFBC officers down there about 6 times since may, they were handing out citations to the guys on the pier without a license everytime. That river has been my favorite fishing spot for 2 years now. We start with catfish, then stripers, then shad, then largemouth and catfish,a couple more stripers and then back to the catfish. Now we have crabs too, it's awesome. Thats not including my canoe trip through the Delaware Water Gap National Forest........l of the smallmouth, walleye, and bald eagle a guy can handle in 3 days. I'll be up there in 2 weeks and i can not wait. We camp 2 nights and canoe 32 miles for an awesome weekend in the most beautiful part of PA.

It says nothing about traps,I wounder if a trap is considered a hand line?I`m picking up a 7.5 merk today and gonna find a a small john boat or something to stuff in the back of the truck and give this a shot.40 pounds of chicken necks in the fridge 10 topless in the back of the car doing nothing. This is a no brainer.Fed thanks for being the first to try!
