I'm looking for a place to put my canoe in around the wye river. I would rather have a dock where i can just pay a fee for the day insted of a MD public dock where i have to have permits. any good places.?

GSki...shraitmans has a public ramp...no problem launching from there...alot of kayaks go out from there...Rick

  You can also go out of Bennett Point.  You have to pay to park there though (whether or not you have a boat/trailer).  You can only put in small craft (like a kayak) there...as there is no ramp.  This is closer to the mouth of the Wye.  Wink

I only drove down the the end of morgans neck road where there was the turnaround i didn't know there was a public spot past that!

  Not past that...just before the entrance to that community.  There are two stone pillars (they're shortish) that you will want to turn left before you go past them.  Once you make the left off Bennett Pt. road, you will go down about 200 yards...can't miss it.  Bulkheaded wood dock with a small pier...looking right out onto the Wye. Grin Wink

  No banjo music...but that is where commercial clammers pull in...so it may be a bit crowded.   Plenty of room to park.
