Going to the Wye?

I guess the only reason I'd want to crab their is to actually see what a bushel of 7" crabs looks like.

I can bushel out in 3 hours in NJ, but there might be 1 7" crab in the whole bunch.
Hey GK here's what a bushel of Wye crabs looks like because I don't think you could fill one. But Tatoo can as you can see with the 2nd one. There is more meat in that one bushel then you get in 2 bushels. And I know, but I bet you didn't know when you were still in diapers there were crabs like this in NJ, on the Navasink, down in Tom's River etc. 21, still sounds like you got some growing up to do. Shocked Wink Grin And they are a lot bigger than 7"s.  Cool Cool Cool

Crabbing, enjoying the water, meeting new people, making new friends, that's what it's all about.

Jersey crabs just can't compare to the Wye beauts! Tattoo will be nailing them shortly. Grin

Thats great.  So whens the last time you filled a bushel of 7" in the Navesink?  When I was in diapers right?  Guess that doesn't do me much good now, does it?  The crab population in NJ is great, but from what I can tell, the size does lack behind the Wye.  Which is what I said..so...I'm not sure why you're defending the Wye?

I am not defending the Wye, it's your smart [arse] attitude. I am sick of all these AH's who mouth off on TATOO and they don't know anything about him.  All the guy does is compliment people, you don't like it, ignore it. Maybe you prefer someone to trash your post. The guy is a Lifetime Member which means he cares a lot about this board and supports it .  2thumbsup

And the last time I got a bushel of 7's in NJ is probably at least 13 years ago, I haven't crabbed there in over 10 years because I got tired of catching 4 1/2 - 5 1/2" crabs with 6"'s as a bonus. I am only 20 minutes away from the Navasink and I won't crab NJ anymore and that's my choice. You having a good season, getting some 5 - 7" crabs, good for you and enjoy them GK. Just don't go off making smart remarks at long and good standing members on this board and you will be fine.Roll Eyes

Hey JoeCrabs, Idon't know you and don't want to start a war, but I have only donated $17 in 2 years to this site and I'm not afraid to say it. Its not that I don't care just I have a very tight budget that really I couldn't afford that but still gave because I had one of the best times afield in my life crabbing with Rick(KC) and JohnnyHandlines last year on the Wye. I took that comment as the LIFETIME members are just paying to let the less fortunate members have an easy ride... Why don't you just fork over the extra money to all the $5-$10 members to bump them up to Lifetime so we actually matter. To me any donation is better than none, so chill the [Sam Hill] out and relax.

Why doesn't everyone take a lesson from Rich (Tattoo).  Would any of us be able to be as positive after having the misfortune of having not one, not two, but three strokes! Having to depend on others to go crabbing, get food, or anything else that requires transportation. It would be one thing if he chose to sit around all day doing nothing, but sitting at the computer and "virtually" crabbing through the folks that share their crabbing experiences....please, tell me what is wrong with that? I don't know about any of you folks, but I know I would probably be bitter and sarcastic with a hint of nasty. How about you?

JDRoat, you missed my point, it has nothing to do with donations or money. It's all about an outstanding member of this board who most people don't know, know nothing about him, don't take the time to find out, and keep attacking him for just saying nice things on this board. It's got nothing to do with money, it's about someone who cares about this board and contributes to it in many ways, and is a dam good crabber when he can get to go, but can't get out often and loves this board. Is that a reason to keep attacking this person because he likes to say nice things on peoples posts Huh. Get to know the person 1st and understand him then make judgements. People give what they can, Steve put created this board for everyone, but I have seen a number of disingenious comments about his posting lately from non-supporting members who rarely post on the board. Why should he have to take that [curd] from these people? Undecided The comment was in reference to Tatoo not the supporting members, but I can understand why you may have taken it that way and I will say that wasn't my intentions and I'll aplogize for that because people should only give what they can afford and if they want to, but that's it. And I'll leave it at that. Cool Cool

I have read that my buddy, Tattoo, uses this board as his "therapy" many many times.  So it irks me that anyone would want to shoot him down.  At least he is active and doing the best that he can.  He never has an unkind word to say about anyone..unless they attack him first.  Give the guy a break.

I live only 20 miles from Tatoo's residence, and I would be glad to pick him up next time I go crabbing around Barnegat, if he wants to crab from shore or split expenses for a boat. Same for anyone else without access to a car.

Hey Heather!

First, I might see you out there next Sunday!  Grin Second, I had my friend just hop off the boat last time only she had some trouble getting back into the boat which was pretty funny too watch. To make it easy, I would just bring a milk jug or something with you (that's what we do at our tailgates laugh) And hey if you're ever up by Villanova, Bmail me I don't live too far from there and we can check out some bars.

Good luck with your "dilemma"  Grin

Kristina

Kristina, if you're gonna be out there next Sunday - lemme know... I might have to float by! Second, I don't think I'm hopping off that boat if there really are jelly fish... call me a chicken neck (gosh I'm so funny!!!) but I'd rather hold it. For life. Smiley

Oh, and I will B Mail  you about the meeting up - I'm there super often. Smiley

Thanks!!!

If she hadn't posted her picture , this topic would have never gotten this far.  laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

Hey now.. "Love at the Navesink" I think we're getting a little out of hand now. Try "Crabby Love: It doesn't bite, but it does pinch!"

Don't ask.

Also, in case anyone hasn't figured it out... I'm the poor crab in the picture. Little does that unsuspecting female creature realize... but I'm gonna pinch her face off any second.

where did the love in this topic go?

Sad i am sad now.

I do believe nobody meant to offend anyone... and I'm awful sorry if anyone did.

If I meant to offend someone they'd know it.  Tattoo knows the difference between some playful joking and out right personal attacks.  Some others, apparently don't, and need to change their feminine hygiene product..and I'm not talkin about the girls. (bet that one gets me in trouble!).

And since we're on the topic, I've only donated a paltry $25.

Oh, and about the jelly fish.  Try looking in the water.  If you see jellyfish, don't get in.  How's that for simple?  Grin

Just drink water and you should be fine. Beer, soda, ice tea, lemonade, are all diuretics and will cause you to fill the bladder repeatedly. If it's hot, you lose all the water sweating, hence, no peeing! It's possible to go all day without relieving yourself if it's hot.

Hey I have no problem with either of you. But they gotta give the guy a break, everyone seems to pick on him just for being polite and he is one of the nicest persons you will ever meet. He doesn't say a bad thing about anyone on this board Cheesy

I agree GK, I agree.

Also,  JOE, I agree as well.

Now here's my final decision.

We all drink lots of beer, with Tattoo, and pee in containers. ... while crabbing, of course.

I think that's the majorities opinion on this topic.
