Yup, there's a box there......only 5 bucks if i remember correctly.  I have the sticker so I'm not sure.  But you can check it out here http://mddnr.chesapeakebay.net/fish/Cntyramps/CE.html   If you need directions let me know I'll e-mail them to you.

Just dont go if it's going to windy it gets rougher there than the state park it is right out in the open of the mouth where the bay meets the Elk no protection from the waves. Wink

Yeah madcrabber is right.  If the wind is over 10-12 mph and you have a small boat it can get kind of hairy.

Yeah, most guys that are launching on or side have larger boats......20' or better.  I run a deep V center console so i don't get knocked around that bad even in the wind......either way it ony takes a minute to get across the elk from there.

Thanks guys for the info.  I think we are going to launch from elk neck tomm.  Maybe we will try Stemmers next time.  Hope the crabs are there tomm.  My crabbing buddie, Bob-a bouy is not feeling too good about the elk.  I am excited about catching some Mumbo's  or at least a few nice ones.

Hey madcrabber, do you live in earleville or just have a vacation place there?  My brother has a place in Elkview, that's where I am almost every weekend.  We do really good out there.

Mike2u....there is a dirt road that goes through some government grounds that you can launch a small boat from. I have seen alot of people back there fishing very frequently. We have caught a few bass in the small creek that feeds that area. I think I may try getting out there on a canoe in the fall.
