Hey guys , a friend of mine showed me an article from a local newspaper. A 13 yr old caught a 8 1/2" off the Shrewsbury River at Monmouth Beach Piers. Even had a picture in the paper last Wed.. Maybe there still is hope for NJ. Cheesy Or maybe he swam from MD to getaway from KC. Grin Hopes it's a sign of good things to come, long drought here. Angry

Crabbing, enjoying the water, meeting new people, making new friends, that's what it's all about.

Yeah, I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see the picture. Not sure where Monmouth Beach sits on the Shrewsbury, or how far it is past the Navisink. Anyway good for them I am not biting. Grin

Momouth Beach is where the Shewsbery and the Navisink River meet i lived in that area in the 80,s.The method that is used is they motor along at Night and net them perfectly LEGAL in N.J. I have never  topped 7" anywhere in N.J, therfore don,t crab there anylonger. there is a no eat area about 3miles from there in Raritan Bay, where those rivers empty into.

KC you never seen an 8 1/2 before only in pictures, it's your dream. Grin RRC, I use to get 8+s all the time around Toms River, but KC was still sucking on his thumb then. Grin, you were 24 right KC. Grin
