I have not been out yet this year but plan on going Memorial Day Weekend.  I know the winter was harsh and the water in the bays must be cold but the creeks hear up much faster and should be warn enough in a few weeks if they are not warm enough already.  If anyone has planted a crab pot it the back creeks please let me know, I am curious if Mr Blue is knocking at my door. Which bay? We do real light recreational crabbing, my daughter and me, and we like to go to Berkeley Island County Park in Ocean County. It's so nice there...

Hey guy's ---- I put out four traps in the last 2 weeks and got two or three dozen, (with white perch, catfish and small turtles thrown in too), .... only 8 keepers though. I had them just downstream of a creek where it comes into a larger creek or the river.

Not much ..... but they are starting!!!

Eight keepers, that is good news.  I guess we are on our way.  Hey, grass hopper, I crab in the Tuckerton area.  Are you in close proximity to me.  I hope the action has started by Memorial Day. My family is planning a vacation and crabbing will be a big part of it.

Yea - D Crabster -

I'm about 10 minutes from you by road or ..... an hour from you by water. Ya come around Graveling Point through the bay and up the Mullica to the Wading.

Do you live in the Tuckerton area or just crab there?

Grasshopper, I just crab there.  I actually live in CT but go down to Tuckerton several dozen times a year.  Do you know where Dock Street or Dock Road are ?  I am going down Memorial Day weekend do you think I will score ?  What's the biggest crab you have ever taken in that area ?  I typically catch one or two 6.5 inchers a year.  But I did see some guy catch a 7.5 inch in the same area.

Hey ------ I get most around 7" to 8" but only cause I put 'pots' out in 10' or more of water in a river. And I throw the smaller ones back. I am not familer with the crabbin on Dock Street. I know where it is, but I have never crabbed there.
Best of luck!!
