First, thanks to all of those who were respectful in offering their opinions and helpful information. I appreciate the posts fellas.
Second, to KingCrabber, who apparently is under the impression that I insulted his intelligence in my previous response, I did no such thing, and had no intention at all of it coming across as such. I simply suggested that a different approach in the communication of your opinions might be better received and do more toward someone actually listening to your message. However, regarding your most recept post on this topic, I find it to be rather childish. It served no worthy pupose whatsoever other than to prove your immaturity in this matter. I don't know where you got the idea of crab withdrawal or whatever you call it or more importantly the idea that I was questioning your intelligence. Neither of those assumptions were true, nor did I give you any reasons to infer such ideas. I have read quite a few of your past posts around the board and find you to be quite knowledgeable and intelligent in many areas, so it is not your intelligence I am questioning, but your communication skills and your maturity, both of which are lacking in this matter. I hope in the future you will reconsider your approach and try to be constructive in your comments rather than destructive. You will generally reach many more people that way and do much better to spread your message and further your cause.

Should have added that the "withdrawel" statement was to add some light, before it gets outa hand. I DON"T keep females, or small(under6") males in Md. I will up here. Same for our sea-trout,at 13", I dont want any. Till 16" there just isn't any "nice" filet. Our rock regs say 1@24-28, and 1 over 28. I fish for the bigs mainly, but would rather take a small. Actually I like the 18-20" better. Lotta diff views on the subject, but he just going by the law. This gets thrown around all the time. Catch&release too. Everyone right, everyones wrong. IMHO,HAGD going fishing soon for some kings outa the surf. The bays a little rough today

You guys would blow a gasket :oif you saw some of the people on that pier and how many of those sponge crabs they were keeping. Some info. folks get comes from the peir employees. I heard stuff like "Oh yeah, you can keep the females as long as the sponge is brown. They have already had the babies!". They collect money to earn a profit and I know they don't want people leaving dissapointed and never coming back. I'll still throw 'em back. I even saw sponges laying on the pier that had been removed from the captured crabs. The place was like
Aushwitcz
for female crabs.
