I replied to your question in the next topic, "Berkley Island Park ((need a report))":

http://www.bluecrab.info/forum/index.php/topic,12706.0.html

If you want specific reports, look in the NJ Crabbing Reports section under New Jersey Crabbing. If no one crabbed at Berkley Island, or crabbed but didn't want to make a report, what can you do? Read the Barnegat Bay reports, there are lots of them and that is the same water. I think Barnegat Bay is great, others do not. Good luck!

Another place you might like is about halfway between Tuckerton and Manahawkin off Rt. 9. Make a turn toward the bay on Dock Rd. when you pass the "My Three Sons" store, at the end of this street there is a long bulwark, beach with lifeguard, and restrooms. Just watch your son because the bulwark has NO guardrail. You can crab there or on the creeks further back off the road.

Last time I went, did much better back off the road.  Got skunked at the bulkhead.  Get there at least 3 hrs before high tide

ILLSWIMHOME is right, the crabbing is probably better in the back creeks. You have to make a judgement when you have small children around because the back creeks don't have a nice smooth pavement and can be tricky even for an adult to navigate. I've slipped on mud, fallen on my arse, and stepped in hidden holes too many times to count laugh . Not to mention the poison ivy and bugs. Ain't crabbing fun? laugh

Yea, just to pick out vermon off of the floor of the creeks in water we can't see through which eats raw chicken and any other dead things.  Who the [Sam Hill] started this?
