Thanks tattoo.  I've been reading lots of your crabbing stories.  Hope to see you catch more.

Thanks so much rcmarko for the information.   I am thinking of taking my two little kids and wife out to the Red Bank for a day crabbing.  Are the boats big enough to hold 4 persons plus a cooler and 4 collapse traps?

NC

Newercrabber - I would suggest going to the Sea Land. I think they are a little bigger and newer. Have Fun!

Plenty of room - you just need to row.  But not far.

Thanks a lot rcmarko and aciffer.  One last question, do they provide life jackets or do I have to bring my own?
rowing the boat would be fun. At least that way in case all crabs are hiding the kids can still have some fun.

The have life jackets, although they can be a little gamey.  If you have your own, especially for kids, it might be worth bringing.

Try anchoring on either side of the channel, between the Front Street bridge and the railroad bridge.  Don't be afraid to move around if the action is slow.  You have two anchors - use them to anchor across the current.  This way, your lines will trail out from the side of the boat, and won't tangle as much.
