It was in Destin last week, now it showed up in Panama city two days ago. I guess it wouldnt be oyster season without it.
Rd, have you ever noticed any effects of red tide on crabbing?

Has it affected the oyster beds though? I remember when we had it here, still been trying to recover from. It was back late 80's early 90 when it was here, bad stuff

There is a threat for the
RED TIDE
here in New Smyrna area (south of Daytona) as well. They are taking it very seriously!

We2
Ive read some posts from crabbers in your area. The best way to contact them is to create a new topic with your question as the subject. All you have to do is to click on "Gulf coast reports" and it will take you to the topics page...than scroll down to the bottom and you will see some buttons.....click on the "new topic" button.
Hope this helps, and keep posting, we need new blood around here.

By the way, talked to a diver who was on a wreck in the gulf. He said the sea floor was covered with dead grouper and snapper. I guess all the best efforts of catch limits cant compete with mother nature.
