Crabing boat rental near Atlantic Highlands

Hi......................
I wonder if someone could tell me where I can rent a boat for a day to do some crabing. I know the area a little because I used to live in South River and now live 1 and a 1/2 hour away.
When is the start of the season. Do you need a liciense to crab. Where can i get current rules and regs on crabing.
Thanks for your help.

Red Bank by the front street bridge is 1 place and chris marine in rumson. Crabbing regulations are simple 4 1/2 inches point to point. cant take crabs with eggs, nor i dont take the girls anyway. Season opens up around the end of may Best of luck to ya man

Oceanic Marina is a good spot to get a boat. Nice people, a fun day.

Hey Woogie, after watching LOST the past couple of weeks, I'm not sure I want to be on the water in a boat that's got anything to do with Oceanic (it was an Oceanic jetliner that crashed on the island)! Might run into a summer squall and find yourself time traveling to your past. LOL
On 2nd thought, maybe it wouldn't be so bad - we could crab where we knew the crabs had been hot!

Solow, the season opened March 15th, which is very early anyway. The way I look at it is it's open all year because when it's closed nobody goes anyway. Theres just nothing to catch during this time.
