Crabs i get are usually 5-6 inches....always get lots of smaller ones and throw them back, but it's always good to see a lot in your pots.I moved here from NJ and got way bigger crabs up there,,but they all taste the same to me. thumbsup thumbsup

Once you learn the waters where you are now I think you will enjoy South Carolina too!

You'll certainly like the winters in SC better!

I definately don't miss the cold weather in jersey!!! SC is a very nice place with awesome fishing and a great year round climate for any fisherman.Crabbing is year round and i love it! Just got done steaming some blue crab!! The whole house smells like crab and old bay seasoning!! Can't wait until everybody has full crab pots Smiley Also,,glad i found this site with a bunch of cool guys to keep in touch with and know how the crabbing is along the coast. I travel from SC to NJ often and fish everywhere in between.THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE WARM WELCOME!! Hope to go crabbing with you all one day. Grin

Welcome!  Although I'm not sure that I'm a good one to be welcoming you as I just joined and this is my first post, lol.

Oddly enough, I am also in Myrtle Beach!  I'm just getting into this whole thing, though.  I met a really nice guy down in Georgetown after a visit to a shrimp boat and he was crabbing right down by the steel mill off the dock and he got me interested in crabbing!

Any tips for a beginner in the area?
