Now I have never purchased a crabbing license in the past and now that I have, I have a question. The booklet says that a person with a license can use up to 30 traps, but that is from a boat according to the booklet. I crab from piers. So how many can I use? I know I can now keep a bushel but I was wondering about the traps. I usually use the legal 10 traps (without a license) and about 20 handlines. I only have 12 traps as of now. Can I use all twelve?

If you use more than 10 you need a license. Here's where you'll find the regulations. Just scroll down to the blue crab section.

Johnny you can use up to 30 traps from boat or pier. So you will be fine with your 12 traps.

Are the rental boats @ the wye licensed, if so, and the people renting them are not licensed is it still 10 traps per boat? or 10 per person?

Thanks
Lou

You need to check the catch count.
