Has anyone tried anything yet this year in CT? I was thinking of trying out Madison this weekend but I fear it is still early.

I have been itching to head out but like the rest of us I don't want to come back with none.

Good point!

Personally, I go for a good time.  If I bring some home, it's a bonus.

Way too early to think about Blue Crabs in CT!
Water temp here is 54-58F off Norwalk.
The crabs haven't come around Long Island yet so we have a bit of a wait until they get to our shore.
I don't start looking for crabs here until July 4th.

July 4th is a bit late if you ask me. I agree, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I'm going to try going out this weekend I think. We'll see what happens.

Enjoy your trip, but don't expect a crab feast when you return.  I agree with Shellfish, who knows this area well, it is way to early for crabs in CT.

Crabs never show up before early July. At least around Darien. I have heard that mid June for the Westbrook area. Hope this helps.

Every year can be different as far as show time goes!
I'm thinking they will arrive later here than last year due to the colder water temps.
