Anybody out there know where or if I can get bull lip in Cecil County? Trying to figure out a cheaper bait supply.  Thanks.

cheaper than what? as far as i know chicken necks are the cheapest. bull lips are more expensive by the pound but last longer and are more of a mess to use. my opinion- necks catch better than lips. the onlt time i'll even consider lips is when the little crabs come on strong  and eat you up.

Maybe what I should have said was "cost effective" not cheap.  I've never actually done the bull lip thing so maybe its not worth the extra lasting power. If their twice as expensive and don't last more than twice as long than I guess its not worth it.  Just looking for some experienced advice.

Here's the pros and cons that I can come up with quickly

Con
Takes a long time to cure
Takes a lot of time to cut
Real messy cutting
More expensive then necks
Can be hard to find local sometimes

Pros
Can last forever for a rec crabber - multiple trips for a comm
No need to refridgerate or freeze or debait at the end of the day
Cover with salt when your done and ready for next trip
When cured correctly, tough as shoe leather and prevents the little crabs from tearing it up

This is just a quick list.  I'm sure others can add to the list.
