I am hoping the smoke still lingers, keeps the mosiquito population down, just wear a dust mask. Actually, no need to go that far for crabs, unless ya wanna make a picnic of it. Girls are being caught out here, big girls too. Males have gone up in the creeks to hide. Caught 3 doz in a hour on Fathers Day.  Spent maybe $2 in gas since it was right around the corner from boat dock, and maybe $1 in necks. Just cut up onion bags and made mini chum bags with ground shrimp heads and bunker, gonna try to see if that works better. My oldest son who is running a boat on his own, said he is trying to save a little money on the side(other than for college) for a trotline.
Question is what is the usual cost for building one? He wants to run line on the slow days, and get those jumbos

Sorry to hijack laugh laugh
Capt. Splat. I would say it depends on where ya staying deterimes what and how many ya will catch. I would say if close to Manteo, drop around the bridges, or ya can swing by Genecrabmans dock and set upon him, his is full of crabs.... Grin

Theres a little creek, just to the west as you come out of Dock of the Bay. It's very shallow, but it has lots of nice jimmies in there.

Going to be in Nags Head from 6/28 - 7/5.  Any piers to crab from nearby?? Where to buy reasonably priced quality crabs when I'm there.  I think I read where Genecrabman might be able to help but do not have any contact info.  Any assistance appreciated.
