Had some real good crabs at Hooper's in O.C. yesterday.  Service was a little iffy.  Still early to break in the new guys.  But for $27.95, you got clams, corn, ribs, hush puppies and steamed shrimp to go along with the crabs.  The corn is never good, but the ribs and fried clams were right on the money.  Sit out on the deck.  It's a little dark and claustrophobic in the indoor booths.  They serve butter, vinegar, and Old Bay in little cups for all the dippin' your heart desires!  We left there happy campers!  Wish my Dad could have been there. I've been there in the past many a time.....great atmosphere too. It's never as good as doing it up yourself....but it is a good 2nd choice!  Smiley

I went there a couple weeks ago and the crabs were great.  I love to go there, they are hard to beat.

Hoopers is one of my fav's in OC.  cant even count how many times I ate there this past summer. The small part of Hoopers outside on the water called "Sneaky Pete's" is a nice relaxing AYCE. It's a most see for anyone in the area this summer.   Wink

Yes...blue crabs. It is in West OC......right across the Rt 50 Bridge. There are other AYCE crab houses around there too......and I do still believe doing it yourself might be a first choice, if you are looking for a little atmosphere (and also no clean up like kcullip2006 mentioned)....Hooper's might be a good choice.

Been there a fair amount of times....I'd be surprised if you left there and you weren't full  Wink
