CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHERE TO BUY GOOD EEL TRAPS? THANKS IN ADVANCE ALSO WHAT IS A GOOD BAIT FOR EELS? I KNOW HORSESHOE CRABS ARE GOOD BUT ITS ILLEGAL IN JERSEY.

Don't know if you wanna drive to Chrisfield MD for em, but there's a place there that has em and you can make em too pretty easy but it's time that eats you up on buiding those...

Hard clam/quahogs are pretty good eel bait.Get the biggest hogs you can find. Used horseshoe crab back in the day. Egged up females fished really well.We would use a machete to hack them into four square.

I've found fresh herring/mackeral to be good bait for eels. I'm an eel fisherman from Nova Scotia and that works best for me.

It's fairly simple to build your own Eel Traps. There is a tutorial at eeltraps.com. It is easy to find bait too, since you can just use minnows. Best of luck to you.

I have heard spider crabs work good for eel bait. It's worth a try I mean what else are they good for? If anyone tried it please post results...Charlie
