Wife and I ran the trotline for a few hours this afternoon/evening. The Easterly breeze contained us to the calm of the creek and the crabbing was a little slow. Not a lot of crabs, but most were jimmies and there were a bunch of buck-n-riders in the creek. We ended up with a grand total of 7 nice and heavy 5-1/2” to 6-1/2” keepers. Smiley

I was using cut mullet that I caught in the cast net last weekend. It held up for the few hours we fished it, but I will probably strike it from my list of possible trot baits. Too much of a PITA for crabbing, but they are just the ticket for flounder and puppy drum. thumbsup

We hit the docks on the way back to the landing and saw more doubles hanging on the dock pilings. Got to be quick to get them off the pilings, as they have their escape preplanned and will leave in a cloud of barnacle juice. Grin Missed a few that would probably have yielded some more keepers for the steam, but we were not concerned. Just more quality inexpensive time on the water… Wink

Wow, that last picture of the sunset is awesome.  Is that the James River near Richmond?  Took a paddlewheeler past Jimmy Dean's house there once years ago.

Just a small creek off the York River across from the Colonial Parkway. I have not yet ventured to the James...by boat. Wink Wonder if there's any crabs over there. Grin

Nice pictures. Wasn't the James River the one that had the huge chemical spill a bunch of years back (I think it was Kepone - insecticide)?
