Hiya,
I was thinking the other day as I saw a skipjack.
Do any of the recs on this site go oystering?
I wanted to go I "think" I might know a spot or two. Rakes are super expensive ($300+).
I was wondering if anyone rents them anywhere?
Anyone wanna check it out with me?
Shoot.... any charters anyone knows about?
Any comms need a deck hand once or twice. I just wanna check it out, I promise not to get addicted :-).

You need a boat and a rake to pick up an oyster down there?
Up here we put on gloves and boots and go out at low tide.
Wellfleet oysters knock the spots off anything that grows in Dixie. And there aren't any human pathogens...

I am sure there are places like that here that i just don't know about.
How about that guys any oysterers be interested in showing me how they do it without a boat.

Sure,
$125 this year.
It'll cost $200 to buy a 2009 shellfish permit in Wellfleet. You've got to want to be there, and I'd gladly show you or anybody else how to fill your basket with the finest east coast oysters you can find...

wow i agree never knew you could grow oysters. iv only had chineese buffet oysters and didnt like em i know they taste better fresh. id like too grow them someday looks interesting.

I know its an old thread but I am still interested in trying this out if anyone wants to take me or i can take you on my boat.
I don;t have the rake/tongs or license.
I will never go to your spot without you nor will I make it public. I just wanna try it out and get a few oyster :-)
