Advice needed

Hey guys , is it feasible to shed crabs in a small aquarium say 30-55 gals? I've read the proper mixture of sea salt to fresh water is 1 cup of sea salt to 3 gals. of fresh water. I assume I would need a circulating and filtration setup also. Could I shed whites , pinks, and reds or just reds? Can this be done indoors or would the little lady leave me (hmmm) due to the odor? I imagine there are a lot of variables I'm not aware of so any advice from those who have experience on the subject would be appreciated. I dont have to worry about chlorinated water as I have a 2000 gal fish pond in my yard which I can draw water from. Also I'm talking 3to6 crabs at a time. John

The crabs I keep in my fish tank shed all the time.. It's just in their nature.
Search the Forum for the word Aquarium. There is a ton of stuff on here about keeping crabs.

i shed in a 4x8 ft tank, 30 -60- at a time. befofe this set up i used a 30 gallon long with standard filter for aquriums and extra air bublers, this worked ok until i would get over 10 crabs in there at a time then it seemed like to much stress on them in a confined space. i used creek water from were i lived aand i would suggest changing the water once a month because of nitrate leaves thats from the waste.

I had one sluff yesterday in my 30 gal. I have found cycling
the water helps.... a week ago I did a 10 gal water cycle and
the salt was much higher.. I think this caused the jimmy to
pop.. Instant Whaler!!!!! Good luck... Cycle your water!!
