I would like to try this Friday to get some crabs.
What is the opinion on the best location.
I can travel to get crabs.
Tred has had some good reports, also Love point and Cox's.
What say ye?
I have not crabbed this late (I am adding line to my traps) and would appreciate any help you can give me.
Looks like 15 to 25 feet deep, is this correct?
Thanks,
Bob

Eastern Bay still has them, I brought home 38 very nice sized ones last weekend, most were in 12 to 14 feet of water, but when running my lines of traps I found that they seemed to be in pools or certain areas, i would find a certain area of my lines had the crabs and the others none, but same depth of water, my advice, move around and keep trying pots in different area's but stay deeper, nothing i pulled up was less than 12 feet, I ran around 25 pots on a very windy day

You can always tie it off and make it shorter - when they say hey, 12 is too much, I fold er over and do 6. I think your on the right track.

there you go.. however keep in mind if you do go to taylors' island.. go Friday for sure...don't postone and go saturday.. that is opening day duck season and taylor's island is one of the most duck hunted areas of the shore....you will make some hunters PO'd if you start crabbing while they are trying to hunt...not to mention don't want to get rained on with duck shot....
