We are gon a needs some heat real quick.  I am sure the crabs will only be feeding without moving around to much.  They dont need much energy with the cooler water.  So unless ur bait hits them in the head catch is gona b lite.

Looks like the crabs are out of the creek for good this season.  Had a dead eel in the eel pot last night, left it in the water 24 hours.  Noughting touched it. Undecided

Some deep spots run 20 feet or so.  12 feet at my pier where the eel was on the bottom... Undecided

Heres some good news for the river and creek crabs.  I put a pot up in the creek yesterday.  Pulled it today and it had 8 crabs in it.  Pot was put down in 15 feet of water but was retreved from 5 foot were the current took it.  temp today is 59 degrees.

Went out looking for the pot I put in the creek the other day.  Spring Tides pushed it half mile farther up the creek.  It had five throwbacks.  Bunker handle touched after a week.   Took the pot home. Undecided

Right now we have the lowest low tide I seen for a good while.  That means the Sun is really warming up the marsh.  When the tide comes back in the water will absorb the heat from the exposed flood areas, warming the water.  If the rain tonight is warm and we get a few more days like today we could be crabbing well into next weekend.
