Might add some rope to the outside , what do you think?

That'll work and maybe some kind of a shape other than a plain rectangle, that is, if practical with finished plates placement.

I was looking at other shapes the ones i looked at were either too small  or cost allot or didn't look right . this one still has to get a finnish on it . i wanted to take a picture before i did that . because the shine form the flash would wash out the picture . I think the rope will add a nice touch.  Wink

I think that was caught in LA.....

Tat,

Just busting ya... I know there are crabs that big, but very rare any more.  I have seen one mounted and it was 11 1/2 inches.  I think it was at Holly's restuarant in grasonville right off of rt 50.  Can't be sure as it was a while ago sicne I have been there.  I went to the JO spice company and they had a bushel of taxiderm'd crabs in a bushel basket.. must have had 25-30 of em mounted all over the basket and they were all 9 plus inches or more... don't think the crabs get a chance to get that big anymore...
I like the lay out of your plaque though...

In this day and age, I think to catch them that big on a consistent basis you have to move to NO and   fill yourself up with a lot of BS.    laugh laugh laugh
