Releasing that lobster back to the ocean was the right thing to do...I only hope that the next lobster fisherman or seafood restaurant believes so too....

Sorry, but I would have served him up shortly after I told the PETA spokeswoman that I couldn't talk with her anymore because I needed to go "take a PETA and wipe my CCA". Odds are he already did the best part his contributing to his species.

I would have bought it for $100 too, thats only about $5 a pound. [dang] thats cheap, could have gotten some clams, oysters, and Blue Claws to go along with it. God I'm hungry.

Bad, too. If PETA hadn't been involved, I suspect they would have continued the promotion. Aaaahh the frustrations of attempting to be PC.

I would have eaten it plain and simple. A catch is a catch. Do you feel sorry when you kill a 12 point buck?

I must be missing something. Unless lobsters produce more eggs why does it matter? That lobster will just kill more lobsters and fish.

I understand now. Kinda like respect your elders. At first I am thinking nice catch thats well deserved meal! Overall I have mixed feeling about whether it should of been eaten or released.

So who's gonna let their 1st 11" crab go? It has become a tradition with my family to let the first keeper of the year return to the bay. It usually was because we didn't catch that many. now we do it to bless the coming season

the statment from PETA that they were glad the lobster was released to live out his life in freedom and peace is about the same as PETA changing a fish to a kittens. a fish or lobster does not know peace or freedom, these are human qualitys. so fry the fish or boil the lobster wether it's 100 or 1 theres no differance.
