Just to inform y'all, thanks to this website I found 3 Crabbers willing to sell us a bushel of #1 seasoned, steamed quality Jimmies at the end of May between $100 and $140.  Thank you for letting us work directly with you. I plan on baking a batch of my special cookies and shipping it at the same time to thank you.

special cookies?

I cleared out my neighbors driveway and sidewalk three times this past winter with my snow thrower and they gave a dozen cupcakes - that hurt me

last year when I didn't have a snowthrower - I gave him bottles of top shelf booze ( $40)  every time when he shoveled my sidewalk

they give me cupcakes - give me a friggin break

cupcakes don't buy gas, pay for maintenance or pay for my time
Cleared the whole [dang] road and all the driveways... Nobody said thanks... But.. It was fun... Grin

in my nieghbors case, if those "special cookies" are not worth a hundred bucks they can shove them up that "special" place

Is there a gas station that takes cookies as payment.

 Grin Grin

I would rather have a thanks or no word that I got from others that I did, than have them give me some 99 cent cupcakes knowing that they are far from poor and thinking they are doing me favor.

I would have preferred a thanks or no word than some crappy cupcakes.

Good thing nobody here goes out to eat. I guess you'd expect me to let Jose' go home without getting paid just so you got a good deal on that T-bone steak that walked here all the way from Kansas City. Don't ask about the OJ for breakfast.  Really though, did the Pup fart?  laugh laugh laugh

I remember as a kid my dad telling me the story about how a bum, (I mean homeless person...gotta be politically correct you know....Smiley) in Washington D.C. tried to sell him a block of government cheese.  My dad turned him down saying "I'm not paying for it twice!"

Costs me around $250 a trip, today I will add $100 of diesel fuel to that and now I guess it's "poor upbring" and "unamerican" for me to put in 70 to 80 hr weeks and want to get paid for some of that time.

Wow, looks like I stirred up the old crab pot here!  Lots of CRABBY Watermen who probably are bored and anxious to kick the season into gear.  For that you are all forgiven Tongue  For your information, we could choose ordercrabs.com and get jumbo #1 jimmies (bushel) for $190.00, Marylandbluecrabexpress sells a bushel of #1s for $180.  So, buying crabs directly from a small operating crabber between $100. and $140 is hardly significant.  And shipping is over and above that price.  We're taking chances not knowing if the crabber is honest, going to send us quality crabs, safely and willing to put up the $$ with trust and faith so we can help support his business.  What's wrong with that?  You guys got to get a life, do some of your own homework and market yourselves instead of bashing eachother.  Go Fishing! and stop being so CRABBY!  And, by the way, my cookies ROCK!!! Thank God you forgive us.

Go pay for a boat, bait, fuel, help, insurance, a truck, license, and all the gear you need then you tell us how much money you can sell a bushel of crabs for to make a profit.  I'd like to know what I am doing wrong...

Nothing wrong with it as that "small crabber" your refering to  is getting market price for his crabs which is what most of us wholesale for. BTW my season has been kicked in since Jan. 1996 when I started blue crabbing again for my 3rd time, still waiting on the boss to give me my first paid vacation.Thats why I am so "crabby"Sooner or later I know she will give in and at least give me a weekend off anyway
