A buddy let me put some pots off of his pier this past week.  Location:  Creek in the lower bay between the James and York River.  Pots baited every other day.

I got three small crabs total. 

I should have known better as there were no other pots in the creek.  Most of the  pots are in more open water.  Even still it was worth a shot and I had some extra bait to get rid of.

At least you gave  it a shot . Im sure next time out they will be there. a day on the water is better than sitting at home.  Wink

I have had pots on the pier since opening day.  They have not caught a single crab.. Got a nice Channel Cat last night. Was gonna put him in the smoker but let him go. To lazy to clean it.  Right now the pots in the sound are not catching hard crabs either.
