Hello all. I am new to crabbing I caught my first ones yesterday. I thought of going to the boating ramps at about low tide on Saturday Morning (about 03:00) on Folley Road. anyone every crabbed at night with more or less success?  Also how long should I leave a pot in the water before checking it. I took a Collapsable net and a pot. I throught the pot out into deeper water and I used the collapslable closer to shore. I caught one it each. Any Tips?

Zamar,  I was just down that way (Mt Pleasant) early-mid April.  I had some success at Remley's point and the Pitt Street bridge (gotta walk all the way to the end), but the bonus is great Flounder fishing there as well.  Also went to the Buck Hall area of Francis Marion and they had a real nice 300 foot sea wall you could crab off, but I didn't have my gear with me the day I checked it out and never made it back, but the local guys at Hadrell's said it usually is a good producer.  I'll be back down in early fall, so please post if you find any good spots! and good luck. Wink

Last Year at Pitt Street Bridge I had a ton of success. On average in 3 hours we would catch about 12 keepable crabs. My son loves it but the walk is long. So we are going to use a wagon this year. Next week we are going to try since he has spring break. Also Leeds Ave has a boat ramp that I have heard is good but have had no success my self.
