Ran all of my 18 traps today for the first time. Launched in Timberneck Creek off the York River and dropped the first 6 traps right in front of the landing. Motored out ~1/4 mile and dropped the second set of 6, and dropped the last 6 another ~1/4 mile out near the mouth of the creek. The first set soaked for a good 1/2 hour and I pulled up 2 keepers. The second set produced 1 keeper and the third set put 2 more in the basket. Back to the first set and started over again. Only picked up 2 or three crabs per full run, but it was enough for me to keep at it.

Caught quite a few just unders and only a couple sooks. Ended up with 20 keeper jimmies up to 6-1/32".

I did move around a bit to check deeper, shallower water and both sides of the creek, but the results were much the same. The traps work great and are easy to bait, set, and move. Best of all... they catch crabs.

Enough for dinner tonight and a crab cake snack for lunch tomorrow. Good time on the water!
