WOW, Gramps it's great to hear you did well in the Barnegat, I have heard nothing but dismal reports everywhere around the Rt 37 Bridge so I got to assume you are further south.  Happy to hear something is a doing in the Barnegat, hopefully next Friday I will be attempting some sort of trip in the Bay so your report gives me hope.  Great catch!  Cool Cool Cool

Elvis is dead?    laugh

No he is not.

He living some where in the Bermuda Triangle. That is why all those boats end up missing down there because Elivs likes boats, he just takes em.

Besides that when I was redoing my bathroom he showed himself to me. As I peeled the old paint, here was this perfect outline of no other then the King himself in the old paint.

Pictures please!  Last year you posted a report that seemed hard to believe as well.  Nobody was catching, but you somehow killed them.  I want to believe these good reports, but we need proof already.

I've made my statement about pics.. Cool You can believe what you want!! I don't eat pics. There are several on here who have crabbed with me and they can attest or keep quiet. My worst day in the last three years was 3/4 bushel the first week of May last year. The next week, Mutsy and I did 1 1/2 and the following week Pinchy and I did just shy of two bushel. All in the same place. I attended the NJ fisheries council meeting this year and talked to the only comm. crabber on the board. Allowed him to check all my weekly reports before handing them over to the board to show how outdated and screwed up their regs are when it comes to crabbing. You may contact Capt. Chickatano at the Port Republic office and check it out. Even the comm. crabber who considers 50 hotels attached to a line as a trotline was surprised at the numbers. What if I did this 5 days a week ... I'd have to sell crabs just to buy film!!
I ain't spending $200.00 to prove squat. I'll be going back down a week from this Fri. and I'll post a meeting place and time before I go. Bring your camera or yourself and prove it to yourself.. Wink Grin
Oh... Jason22, get ready young man. I think I'll have room in two weeks  Wink Grin

You tell them gramps just because they can't catch crab they think there is no crab there. This is not always the case sometimes you just have to be smart enough & take the time to do the work to catch them. Great catch Gramps and better luck to you on your next trip thumbsup yes thumbsup

Believe it people. Pinchy gave me some of the crabs Gramps gave him last year.. They did get 2 bu.  Also, why would he lie. The crabs are out there if you know where to get them. I posted pics from Dividing creek the first or 2nd week of April. Also We caught a bu. in 4 hrs in Tuckerton which is just a little ways down from Barnegate. http://www.bluecrab.info/forum/index.php/topic,32298.0.html   That was May 24th. 3 weeks ago. Last week Pinchy caught 32 keepers from land in Tuckerton using 5 ring traps.. They are there for the crabbers willing to explore and find them.  If you want to listen to "other peoples reports" then you are depriving yourself of the chance to get a nice catch.   I see crabbers all the time sit in the same spot for 5 hours and catch half a doz. crabs then report they were not running  or they werent there.. Well, in that same time I moved 5 or 6 times to find them and caught a bu.

If I believed all the naysayers, I would be waiting for better reports and maybe starting in a week or two. But if I did that, I would not have caught 3 bu. by now.  Hey, the more people want to believe the "others poor reports", the more crabs for the likes of Crabbygramps and myself.  Grin Grin Grin

Ready and waiting Gramps, thanks for the report and I agree about the pics, you've earned your respect on this board more than a couple times so if you say your catching crabs, everyone should believe you.  thumbsup
