Hunting Crab near the Sand Bar - West Dennis

Ignore
« on: July 11, 2009, 12:44:44 AM »

I've been looking for crab in some of the bogs and rivers around the West Dennis beach for the past couple of years; and it's been barren... This year things look to finally be picking up.  I remember back a good 10+ years ago I'd net quite a few 8+ inchers.  I went out today and averaged about 3 an hour or so.

Man, my netting skills have slacked over these past few years, I left a lot of good crab in the creek!!  (I'm too ashamed to state how many misses I had)

It looks like the majority are around 5", and a couple ranging up to 7 or so, but they are back, so happy to see them back Smiley

I'm new to the forum, so not exactly sure the structure or method for reports and posts.

Good luck to all this season, and happy crabbing!

do you have an approximate location for this?  I've been thinking about heading down again one weekend for a Saturday to see what I can snag.
