Your best bet is to head about 15 minutes south to garden city beach. There are several bridges that cross the marsh and all are good for crabbing.Or Dicks marina in murrells Inlet (5 minutes south of garden city) you can rent a skiff for the day.Good luck

Thanks Dave. Another question. Where can I purchase a crabbing permit in that area and how much is it?

Thanks-John

You just need to go to wal-mart (shouldn't be hard to find one there is 15 of them in the county) and purchase a saltwater fishing license then your good to go.
