I thought I would do a small poll on what month did everyone consider the best month for crabbing ? If everyone would take a second to post their location and best month for crabbing I think it could be interesting!! I will start by saying I'm in SW Florida and only started to crab here recently, but I was told by a few locals and a comm crabber that Julyis usually the best.

late October thru Nov......not a sole around and penty of big hard crabs.  Don't have to get up at O'dark thirty and can still get a spot in the lot and on the river.  Ohhhhhhhhh can't wait til then.

I like November in Mississippi, but it has as much to do with the temperature cooling down as much as the crabs being plentiful. May for soft shells though.

CT.... the best time is when; and if they show up!
Here it is best in August and September when they are here.
Last year they never showed in my part of the state.
Even when they so show up......the first cool wind in the fall and they are gone.
Our season here is only about six to eight weeks! BUMMER!
