I think I finally figured this out after several attempts ending in frustration.
Somers Point...on the way out before sun up. An eerie fog rolled in...low tide was 630 am. Not a great tide. We banged a dozen right off the bat. It picked up between 830-900 again. Result was 44 nice heavy crabs all between 5 and 7. One 7 incher another 6 7/8. Others were big for Jersey too as you will see. Made crab gravy yesterday and had my folks and my in-laws up. Made olive oil, garlic and parsley...olive oil, garlic parsley, grated parmesan cheese and italian style breadcrumbs (recipe courtesy of Captain Williecrab)..delicious and steamed most of the big boys in old bay!!!!  What a crabby weekend.

Thanks for the report and photos.  One question, "What makes a great tide?"

Thanks all.

Tide question...personal preference I would say. We started crabbing about an hour and 15 minutes before dead low.....then you kind of wait around for 45 minutes to an hour for the tide to start moving again...start coming in and bringing with it, the crabs. If you are at dead low or dead high, the activity is much slower than when the tide is moving. What I meant by that comment was the timing of low tide.
Thanks for the inquiry though.

Great Pics Scott, glad to see you got them uploaded.  And nice catch, if things keep up this way I won't be heading below the Mason Dixon line for a while.  And Mutzy won't have to drive as far and be able to blame his "red eyes" on the long trip to the Wye!  Shocked laugh laugh laugh
