I guess you answered your own question. Its a 7.62 mm Mosin-Nagant 44.It was the only one issued with an attached bayonet.
Hey Jack!! I like that SKS. Nice shootin' weapon but heavy as shiz. I shot one a few weeks ago, with a polymer stock that was a heck of a lot lighter. I'm a big fan of Warsaw pact weapons. Check out my "deer rifle"

kids - don't drink beer when you shoot guns - put the beer down, you don't want to spill the beer....
note the stock extension
IMHO Milwaukee's Best Light doesn't qualify as beer

I have an 8mm Mauser, I believe is russian.
Has about, perhaps a bit better than the 30-30, the same balistics.
Any caliber rifle can be classified a sniper rifle, just as long as you "snipe" your target at whatever distance.
Any weapon can be used to snipe a target.......that doesn't make them a Sniper rifle. A "Sniper Rifle" is a designation given to specific calibers used for the purpose of sniping because of their balistics and ability to shoot long distances with great accuracy.

WWII Russian Nagant Carbine Rifle.
BF you said you shot "45 cal full metal jacket" out of it. Now you say it's a 7mm?
?

jack consider a 1/2 inch rubber stock extension - SKS makes a short stock for the Chinese shooter and it helps reduce recoil
I did it
on mine
Is this what you are talking about. This is is my baby it is a Chinese paratrooper SKS the length of the gun is about 30in or so it is short because it is what they jumped out of the airplains with so I am told the barrel is so short that the combustion from the bullet comes 2 feet out of it, it is a really nice gun.

The Nagant was used as a sniper rifle during the war, but it wasnt that nagant. the sniper version was the M91/30 Nagant, and the barrel was longer. That gun was the one used in that movie that came out a few years back, Enemy at the Gates.
You can't even mount a hi power scope on that M44, you need something with a long eye relief or you'll wind up with a black eye and a stitched up brow. that 7.62x54R round has a real nice kick to it.

BF here is your first post;
"When I was out in MO for 7 days for my brothers wedding I stayed at his house. For his bachelor party we went out shooting. He brought his 9Mil glock, M4 Carbine, and WWII Russian sniper rifle. My question is can anybody find out the exact name of this WWII Russian sniper rifle I will explain it to the best of my ability.
It has an Iron bayonet, shoots 45cal (we shot 45 full metal jacket), and bolt action.
to 1500 rounds of 9mil hollow point."
You said you shot 45 cal ammo out of it, than you said it's not a 45, which is it?

I like the pic of Old Mil's Best. When we did offshore grouper trips we carried a case of trading beer. Shrimp boats did 21 to 30 day trips. Beer and cigs were gone after 10 to 15 days. A 12 pack of bush-light and 2-3 packs of cigs were worth 20# sack of 16 count tails and a doz. or so lobster(depending on how long they had been jonesing) But for some reason
Milwaulke's Best didn't bring as much SWAG!
