I know this may sound strange, but here goes. I have a 55 gal Salt water reef aquarium with a 20 gal sump (a 2nd tank below the first). The sump only has dead coral in it and some seaweed. The sump pumps water into the main tank where its returned and there is a skimmer on the sump. The tank is set up as a reef aquarium which means it contains live rock, corals and a couple of fish, star fish, hermit crabs, snails etc. I am wondering if I could put some live blue crabs in the sump and keep them alive in their. Has anybody tried? If nexessary I could even set up a 2nd tank just for the crabs with a skimmer. (skimmer cleans the water by creating foam).
The problem is we love fresh steamed crabs and the coast is 100 miles from here. Was thinking about buying a few dozen. Steaming and eating one when we get home. Cleaning, vacuum sealing a dozen and keeping a dozen alive in the tank.

Thanks
