I'm just curious what is the biggest crab you guys have caught in lower delaware? Shocked  From reading past reports it looks like 5"-7" keepers are the norm with 7" being close to the max. I have been crabbing in delaware for about 10 years and the biggest I have caught is 6 1/2". I suppose there are factors that have limited my chances of catching a 7"+ crab like the fact the majority of my crabbing has been done in June and July. I know when I catch one 6"+ I'm happy as a kid on christmas day. Grin

As a side note, when I was a teenager the family did alot of crabbing in the rivers along the upper chesapeake and it was not uncommon to catch 7-8 inchers and I know people land the occasional 9"+ over there. With that said, I would be jumping out of my shoes if I caught a 7"+ in lower delaware!!

I have only caught 2 that were 7.5. Both last year and one of them I dipped off the surface.

The biggest crab I have caught down there is 7.5" on 5/30/09.    I'll be down at "the Bay House" for five days over the holiday, so hopefully I will break my personal best.    Wink
