I read some where that when Captain John Smith sailed up the Chesapeake Bay he claimed that it was so clear that you could see clear to the bottom of the bay and see all the crabs and oysters and fish. 


Wouldn't that be cool if we could see the bay like that again.....

In the early 80's, in the upper bay, during the winter you could see the bottom in 8-12 feet of water.  The water was as clear as the water from your tap.. Trouble was, that it looked like the surface of the moon..  Miles and miles of nothing.  No grass, no fish... No nothing...  Undecided
