Yep, the 'Mutzy Measurer'.  (too bad this "quality" crab is relegated to second place)

Ok, I guess I need to address the controversy that is brewing here. In retrospect, I concede that there might of been a more conclusive means to show the measurement, but unfortunately, I do not have a Mutzy measuring decvice and did what I thought was the next best thing. I can also understand that the camera shot may seem to be deceptive and after examining the shot, there may be about a 1/8 inch variance. Not really sure and can not be corrected at this point because the carapace is now part of the landfill. All I can say at this point is that I value integrity and live by that standard and there was no intent of any kind of deception in my posting or photo.

Yes, it is a shame that a truly quality crab (Mr. Breeze's) has the potential of being dethroned by such a poor specimen as the one I caught with all of it's missing legs and claws. By sight alone, his is definitely looks more like a champion.

With all that I've said to explain and point out, I don't want to be the cause of any hard feelings or to create any controversy.

So, if the general consensus is that there is question as to the way this crab was measured and recorded, so be it. This is still not to say though, that I still stand behind my integrity and as such will live with what ever decision is decided upon. I DO NOT NEED the prize money and nor do I NEED the bragging rights. Just to be able to live in this wonderful area that gives me the pleasure of being able to crab and to be associated with all the wonderful people on this site is more than enough of a reward for me.

Ron, I do not think anyone was questioning  your integ, it was just an observation of how the pic was taken.  Do I think it was bigger then Rich's crab? Yes, a little.  Do i think it is a 9?  I do not.  A bigger crab then i have probably ever caught though.  Well done.

LOL,  Ron, your crab measuring technique is ok by me.  I've seen alot of pics that don't even come close to being as good as yours.  I do think it was a 9, and my congradulations to you.  But it ain't over yet, bub.
