Looks like they have alot of work on their hands. It only takes one storm to mess it up again.

I wish I had thought to have the Dragon stand in front of the piles to give some prospective.  They are at least as high as a 2 story house...

I think this is ironic & funny & mean no disrespect but this thread was moved by the OP?  Jack, need another nap?   laugh  I hope you can see my confusion.  Sometimes I don't always understand moving some topics.  I don't disagree, but quietly wonder sometimes.

Here's a little tidbit from the "Moved" thread...

"Lets see.. This morning I went fishing, crabbed, and final pressure washed the "crab barge"..  Oh yeah, ran the dogs and flew the pigeon.  Cleaned the pigeon loft.  Ate breakfast around 10...  What's left to do but move topics.....   laugh  BTW, I want to thank everyone that can't read the topic headers that Steve wrote a hundred years ago.  Just put the topics anywhere and we'll get around to moving them sooner or later.    laugh"

I'm always torn when I see beach erosion.  On one hand it would be nice to preserve what we have.  On the other hand I see Mother Nature at work.  She created the beaches & everything else that we cherish.  She needs to rearrange the puzzle pieces once in awhile to continue creating new and beautiful things.  I'm starting to think we just need to move out of her way most of the time & not rebuild in areas that have proven to be in harms way (flood plains, barrier islands, etc).  Maybe the new creation will be better than the old.

Some time in the future there will probably be a new barrier island off of Cape May, NJ.  There is a shoal building over the last 10-15 years that wasn't there when I was a kid.  That sand had to come from somewhere.  The towns to the north that are continually "rebuilding" their beaches.

I moved it here because,

At first I didn't think it fit anywhere but dockside talk.  After getting crabbing question in bmail, since posting this topic, I decided to more it out into the general forum so non Supporting Members that use the beach could see it.

You guys are lying.  I know this because everyone knows that old farts don't know how to operate das computermachinen.  Besides there's not enough griping on here and everyone knows how old farts like to gripe.  Too cold, too much snow, out of beer, beach got washed out again, can't wait for crabbing season...

Now there are what I like to call the occasional "blue-hair (ladies) squabble"...
