Looks like 9" to me, what's the official measurement ? That's Going to be a tough contest if were at 9" in MAY !! We better get crabbin !! I'm going this weeekend got my new wire scaping nets and I extended them to 8' long.

Not to be a party pooper but even though that is a big crab....it's not being measured correctly ......look at the tape measure...it goes across the shell ....that is not how a crab is official measured...sorry, I'm only going by what I was told.
But yes in the 2nd picture it looks like it's 9".

Hi Breeze,the crab is nine on the nose. I will save him and if anyone wants to check him they are welcome to. I also caught one 8 and 7/8 inches the same day. Nine inch might not win the contest, looks like there are some big ones out there. Bill

In the pic with the newspaper, it is bent but that is mainly to show the date. If you look at the second pic, the tape says 9, if you look at the newspaper pic, its about 9 1/4
