We are catching lots of really nice crabs.  I have only one trap and I keep usually chicken backs in it.  The catfish seem to like the chicken so sometimes I get catfish in the trap and they become the bait.  The other day I caught a 9 1/8th inch crab and a few days before I caught one that was 8 1/2 inches.......but it had the biggest claws I've ever seen on any blue claw.  Huge!

Two days ago my wife and I cleaned 8 nice crabs and today I checked the trap and I have 5 more in there.

We are crabbing in the canals in NW Cape Coral.......way north, past Kismet Parkway.

Hey Floridacrab,

Nice to see you join the forum! If there are real Florida crabs, I'll join you. I don't think there are any crabs in the Cape Coral area, at least not in the water. Grin
