Which is how this is shaping up, due to hurricanes and tropical storms, interupting relief well drilling, relief wells missing there mark with multiple retrys, projected plugging of leak will take place sometime near Christmas.
All marine life for hundreds of miles along affected coastlines will perish, the gulf water chemistry forever altered.

Philippe Cousteau, grandson of famous explorer Jacques Cousteau, went underwater off the Gulf Coast to see first-hand what the Deepwater Oil Disaster looks and feels like. And the answer he came back with: "This is a nightmare."

There is a video I tryed posting but it won't work

Just pray you guys don't get any of this oil.  I planed my retirement from the FD with the intent of crabbing for the next 5 to 6 years or as long as this old body holds out.  Now I just don't know what's in store for the next couple of years.  Hopefully there aren't any storms to bring this oil to far inland.  Thing is nobody knows.

For the crabs, its the eggs in high salinity waters that matters. If the eggs get coated with oil, it will wipe them out. The crabs inside the Bays have a one and a half to three year life span. You do the math.
I have been crabbing here like there is no tomorrow.
We were in charge of this planet and the next generation will have less to preserve. Lucky them.
