I'm not sure what the season is like up in Maryland, but down here in Texas and Louisiana the season has ended. Crawfish are best from about March to the middle of June.

I do not think there is a season here. If there is I have never heard of one. I have also noticed that my best times catching them as a kid and recently at my wifes aunts has been after July 4th. I am guessing that is because of the cooler water running from the mountains. ( Just a guess ) I just used a pierce of hot dog on a string and pull them out from the rocks. They hold on all the way to shore and i drop em' in the bucket! Most i have caught is about 50 in a few hours. I am no pro but it is fun to me

I'd rather be a hillbilly thean a flatlander....but thats just me Food for thought. When an object pierces a Flatlanders 2 dimensional world all they can comprehend is an edge - no reasoning why or how - just an edge.
