RD, you know how I feel about that stone crab thing, I got a message for you from Jimmy K. If you want to open it early then you need about 30,000 traps from Citrus co. on your inshore bottom from Steinahatchee to St. Marks, and if the hotel traps go in mid August then the wood might too and let the chips fall where they may. Art,it's up to the rest of the guys but from what I am seeing there will be lots of room because all the local stone crabers will be working for BP and as for me I will still catch mine, better bait, better traps and better local knowledge, tell em all mine are green n orange and I keep a wheel sharpened with a grinder and filed don't get to close. We are the masters of tight squeezes here, you ought to see our variables laugh 250 trap N/S lines every 2/10 of a micro second with a few E/W and NE/SW lines thrown in for good measure. Oh and I'm famous for my angle lines, basicly N/S but on a 190 degree southerly run, just so I can foul everyone equally Wink. Most of us run traps every two,two and a half boat lengths.

Yes there are people selling their product , but there are others who cannot. The radio show was not just about blue crabbers but about the what the government and BP are not telling you about this oil spill.Data was given on the oil and dipersants and what it can do to our fish and people , the fisherman. The orders in and out of state on gulf seafood has changed because of the misconception that the spill has ruined our fish .I have a family member in NJ who said they wouldnt touch it.The worst thing we can do is bicker between each other about all of this. Do you really think when the oil gets here that good old BP will be there putting their arm around your shoulder and giving you a check. Dispersed oil could be knocking on your back door and you wouldnt even know it. When this oil quits pumping out , so will the checks and BP. Good luck!

So who gave you all the correct data on the oil and dispersants?  All our grouper boats are selling fish, even when the longline boat were allowed into 35 fathoms and slayed em, things got backed up for a couple of weeks but it all straightened out. Offshore shrimp boats out of La. and Texas doing $80,000 trips now(best in years). No young lady, the worst thing we can do right now is lie, cheat, and steal to get a handout of a few lousy dollars when somewhere down the road your whole way of life may collaspe..BTW I know there's plenty of dispersed oil in Hernando Beach , all them baitshrimp boats and ain't a one got a clean bilge.  laugh
