Hey People!! Thx for reading this!!
My family is desperate to go crabbing.  Cheesy And so I need to find a local area to go crabbing. I live in Queens NY and I would like to know an exact location to go crabbing. I'd prefer a place where the crabs are on the shores where there's a beach and the crabs are just around. But I know that those places are really rare. Are there any places in NY or Long Island that I could go crabbing? I'm new to this whole thing... so I sort of need some instructions. I heard that Sheepshead Bay is good... but I'm really not sure where it is. So please help out here!!  Cool

Have you ever been crabbing there? Do you know an exact location?

You can crab in a whole lot of places, Sheepshead Bay has a few really shanty looking marinas that you can go to, you can try over by Knapp St. The best places you could go though in your area would be places on Long Island, Bay Park, Captree, etc.

The crabs are not safe to eat from Sheepshead Bay, and Bay Park/Captree are questionable. If you can take a ride out to NJ, I'd definitely recommend it.

What's wrong with the crabs at Sheepshead Bay?? And where do you recommend in NJ... preferably areas closer to NYC. Are the rules and regulations the same as NY or is there different things?

Sheepshead Bay is very polluted. Red Bank or Rumson NJ are fine places to go right now, if you check the reports for NJ you'll see where they are catching, or you can check out the resources section to see where marinas are/how much boat rentals are/etc. The regulations in NJ are pretty lax, 1 bushel per person, 4.5" or bigger, can't take mature females (http://www.bluecrab.info/identification.html). Good luck
