Hi, I'm new to this forum, so bear with me.  My dad is coming in from FL and we'd like to do some crabbing.  In the past, we have always rented boats along the causeway going into Stone Harbor or Wildwood. (Dad's Place, I believe?)  Does anyone know how the crabbing has been there lately?  I have been reading alot about Red Bank, though and how the crabbing has been great there.  Are there places to rent boats there?  Any suggestions you can give would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

You can go to Red bank marina .. Thier rowboats are $50 and crabs aren't that far... Reports are still great thier... Planned to get thier before they open as the line in the morning is very long... Handlines and chicken are tackle of choice... Won't be disappointed... Umm crabbing pretty much pretty good threw out the back bays from cape may and up but it seems the further north u go the better. Good luck

Thanks for the info.  While waiting for a reply, I checked the map to see exactly where Red Bank is and it's a little out of the way for me.  I think I was confusing it for Lower Bank  Undecided  Anyway, I will stick to the Atalntic/Cape May area.  So my revised question would be, where is a good place to rent a boat close to a good crabbing in this area???

Try Larsen's in Sea Isle.  The crabbers are doing well in the back bay waters.    Check out their website for info about their hours & rental boats.     http://www.larsensmarina.com/Jersey_Boat_Rentals.html

You can crab at the Atlantic County Park @ Estell Manor.

You can crab at the bridges entering Atlantic City on Route 322/40 or Route 30

You can crab at the Route 9 bridge by Holy Spirit High School in Absecon.

You can rent a boat at Dolfin Dock in Somers Point and crab the bay right there.

Thanks so much for your suggestions...will let you know how we made out.  Our family use to go crabbing every summer while on vacation at the Jersey shore and it was always such fun.  My husband wants nothing to do with it, so I now have to wait for dad to come up from FL to go.  It's been years since we've gone and I am really looking forward to it.  Thanks again
