Hello everybody! I have a family member that is in town that wanted crabs but she brought her truck, I wanted to know will they die being in the back an she driving 4 hrs with them?? She plans on driving during the day too?! What would've the best solution for her? She wanted 200 lbs for labor day weekend so she can't really put them in a cooler, should she leave them in the crate (100lbs) or break down into paper/wax boxes (50lbs), should she use a blanket to cover, tarp?? Pls any advice would be helpful Wink

Personally, I'd break them down into the 50lb boxes and ice down each of those well (on top) and cover all of them with something (tarp, blanket, etc.) The 100 lb crates probably wouldn't let the cold from the ice reach the bottom layers of crabs. Just my opinion.

Keep them cool, drained and the air off of them.
