When does the season typically end?  This is my first summer crabbing and I want to get out at least one or two more times.  Given the fact that Red Bank has been super productive this year, does that mean that it'll end early?  Or will there only be throw backs and females left?

I have some new recipes I want to try.

Depends on multiple factors.  Good estimate is sometime in November in NJ.  Check some reports from last year to get a gauge on the different areas,   With the crabbing that we have seen this year, who knows

I'd say November but it depends on the water temps and if you have a boat or if the rental place is still open.  Cooler water on the surface means go deeper.   September is awesome in S Jersey for the smaller creeks off of the parkway.  If this is your first year doing it, get out there!

There is no season you can go crabing all year long.

The crabs burry into the mud when the water is 55deg.
