We went out on the Elk 9/20,north of the launch, in front of the large home w/ the pergola and pool. NOTHING. Moved up to the cove again nothing. We were in 4-8 ft of water. We only have 5 traps but we use lines and have done OK with them.
I'm thinking we need more traps but with the LUCK we are NOT having, not sure we want to invest.
We left the ELK,hubby thought it might be too rough to try TP,and drove over to GP to check out the launch. He said we'll go back Thursday. I wanted go back TODAY. I'm home recovering from surgery and he is laid of soWHY NOT CRAB!
Point us in the right direction please!!!!

Thanks all, happy to be on the BCF, so much info.

I was there on Sunday 9/19 and had a hard time with 16 traps.  I kept moving and finally found them closer to C & D.  I set 8 test traps and immediately checked them to find 7 keepers in 8 traps.  I set the other 8 and had more than half a bushel in  4 runs.  My point is that you have to keep searching and try different locations and depths until you find them.  Some days are easy and some days are frustrating.  I had two 14 year olds with me and it was tough to keep them smiling when catching was few and far between, but persistence paid off.  Keep working and you will find them.
